Gamuwedde (he is finished) happily returns as a mature production after many actors shed off panic to gain an infectious confidence.

We now get people like Mary Ann at full potential. Abu Kawenja is incomparable, while Kato Lubwama’s political ranting becomes more biting. Abby Mukiibi now turns his focus away from actions to words. His mispronunciations are really funny. With a cast that relies on improvisations, expect commentary on Michael Jackson.

Timothy (Mukiibi), the school principal, in acquiring a sh200m loan, gets into a love/sexual affair with money lender Tina (Mary Ann), a rich Kikuubo-based trader. Although the loan is meant for developing the inherited school, Timothy uses the money for unmentionable purposes. Payback date comes and Tina takes up the post of bursar with the intention of recovering her sh200m. But as morality forces gang up to put Timothy right, he starts losing out. His brother Geoffrey (Mpinga), a teacher at the school, claims the inheritance while his wife reminds him of his obligation as husband.

The scuffle sucks in everyone in the school. The real magnet in the play is Kawenja, who plays the cook with a questionable future, and draws much sympathy.

Some of the humour is not coherent with the storyline and there is more laughter on stage than in the audience.
