The district local government has recognised Kamuli Girls Boarding Primary School for its crusade for girl-child-education. The school was also rewarded for its anti-corruption, HIV/AIDS and children rights campaigns. The LC5 chairman, Stephen Mubiru, handed over the award to the school during a ceremony to bless the primary leaving examinations candidates at the school on Monday.

Minister tips SACCOS

The state minister for microfinance, Ruth Nankabirwa, has urged the Savings and Credit Cooperative Organisations (SACCOs) to mobilise more members to access bigger loans from Government microfinance centre.
Nankabirwa made the remarks during the launch of Napier Nseete SACCO in Napier market in Jinja town recently.

Disabled get donation

Disadvantaged people living in the Jinja Destitutes’ Home have received an assortment of household items from well wishers. The items that included six mattresses, 10 blankets, clothes and plates all valued at over sh1m, were donated by members of the Rotaract Clubs of Jinja, Source of The Nile and Lukuli, Makindye in Kampala during a visit to the home recently.
