Whereas I asked for chips and fish fingers, he opted for local food. I remember him asking for matooke and groundnut sauce and when it was brought, he used his bare hands to eat, explaining: “I am a Muganda and hope you are not offended by me using my hands to eat.â€
He asked if I was a muyaye because I had many rings on my face but I told him I just liked them. I had a taste of his Tusker and Coke mixture and it was really good.
What struck you most about him?
He is very sincere; he shared everything about his background.
What didn’t you like about him?
He used his hands to eat.
Would you accept his invitation for another outing?
I would go out and have fun with him.

When I asked her about the rings that were all over her face, she said she just likes them. I advised her to always focus on what she wants to be in life. After the chat, I suggested that we leave, since I had something else to do. We exchanged contacts and parted company, each of us going their way.

Her English was mostly slang, so I was not confortable with it.
