Man held over torture
NTUNGAMO-The Police are holding a farmer from Kasana village for allegedly torturing a 15-year-old, whom he accused of stealing his sh70,000. The district criminal investigations department chief, Charles Muhereza, said Charles Birimubusha, 54, burnt Ronald Turyamureeba’s private parts with a hot panga. Turyamureeba was working for Birimubusha as a herdsman. The victim’s uncle, Wilson Kisooso, reported the case to the Police.

RDC warns against graft
KASESE-The resident district commissioner, James Mwesigye, has warned the newly-recruited civil servants in Kasese town council to avoid corruption. Speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of five town agents, two accounts assistants, two community development officers and one senior education officer, Mwesigye urged the recruits to implement government programmes. The function was held at Nyakasanga parish hall on Friday.
