EDITOR—In the last couple of weeks it has been a strange sight in Kasubi with one half of the neighbourhood having electricity and the other in darkness. Some people have said this is a result of two different power lines serving the area, which also affects Nakulabye and Namungoona.

One of these power lines developed a problem and
keeps going on and off. It was particularly bad in October. After four days at the beginning of this month, we had stable power supply but alas, our hopes have been shortlived!

Recently, a Umeme employee went to the power poles near Kasubi market and cut off the power!

Many small businesses have been affected as a result and apparently there is no response from Umeme. What should one do?

Some customers have resorted to hiring some Umeme workers to switch them to the power line that supplies Namungoona.
