MPOMA Girls’ School shone as two of their students were among the best in Mukono district in the last year’s UACE examinations.
Catherine Nankabirwa, who offered History Economics Geography and Arts (HEG/A) was all smiles as Saturday Vision broke the news to her. She got 22 points. “I read hard and prayed to God,†she said.
Nankabirwa attributed her success to self-discipline, prayers and hard work.
Born to Gerald Ddumba, an administrator at Namagunga, she said her success would inspire her siblings to read hard. She aspires to study law at the university.
“I did my best and revised with colleagues at school. It was a long journey and not easy to overcome. Thanks to God and my parents,†she said.
Nankabirwa’s colleague, Joyce Nakato, who offered History, Economics, CRE and Enterpreneurship also got 22. She plans to offer Entrepreneurship at the university.
“My ambitions are to start up a business enterprise,†said Nakato, who said she gets inspirations from an aunt, a trader.
