For a year now, we have lived without water in our taps! I have two houses for rent in the area but recently both tenants gave me written notices terminating their tenancy agreements because they found living in my houses too expensive, since they have to buy water for months on end!

A jerrycan of water costs sh200 while a tank costs a whopping sh100.000! Each time I call NWSC’s Kampala offices or the Kireka branch, the reason I am given sounds more of a rehearsed chorus—our water line was interrupted when the Mukono line was being installed!

For how long must our suffering go on? Is this the customer service that NWSC so much boast about? I just want to remind them that much as they emphasise customer service we are more interested in water running in our taps and not hot air!
