Christians to mark Jesus’ sufferring in Friday walk

CHRISTIANS will on Friday hold processions in Kampala as part of celebrations to mark the ‘Way of the Cross’. The walk symbolises the suffering that Jesus Christ went through before he was crucified.

CHRISTIANS will on Friday hold processions in Kampala as part of celebrations to mark the ‘Way of the Cross’. The walk symbolises the suffering that Jesus Christ went through before he was crucified.

Under the Uganda Joint Christian Council, the Catholic, Anglican, and the Uganda Orthodox churches will join Christian’s worldwide to celebrate the public Way of the Cross in Kampala.

There will be 12 separate processions that will converge at Nakivubo Stadium for the main celebrations. Cardinal Emmanuel Wamala will lead Christians trekking from Nsambya parish.

The Anglican Archbishop, the Rt. Rev. Luke Orombi, will lead Christians from All Saints Church Nakasero, while the Kampala Catholic Archbishop, Dr. Cyprian Lwanga, will lead Christians from Rubaga Cathedral.

Jonah Lwanga, the leader of the Orthodox Church, will lead Christians from Namungoona.
