Follow government market policy
The Government has finally come up with a policy that will guide districts and urban authorities in the redevelopment of markets. It should, however, remember that it is one thing coming up with a policy and another implementing it. The Government has to make sure that this policy is followed everytime a local government intends to tender out a market. Maybe we would not have had the Nakasero market problems if this policy was available.

Thanks for the lodge operations
I want to thank the Rubaga resident district commissioner (RDC), Fred Bamwine, for carrying out operations against school girls who go to lodges to have sex with men. The fact that over 10 school girls were nabbed in just one hotel in the division, should alert other local leaders that it might even be worse in their areas. Let other leaders embrace such operations so that the rampant exploitation of school girls stops.

Repair the Bulera to Kyamusisi road
The road from Bulera to Kyamusisi, the tea-growing areas of Mityana district is impassable. It is the same road that travellers use when going to town. I am calling upon local leaders to work on this road urgently because it links farmers in the area.

Ssekanyonyi

Well done Mao for exposing fake NGOs
Recently, the Gulu LC5 chairman, Norbert Mao, exposed one of the manipulative Non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in the area. This was a bright idea. Many NGOs have been taking it for granted that the people in northern Uganda will accept anything from them. Thanks chairman for exposing these NGOs.

Gulu
