UGANDA telecom has won a contract to build a wireless internet command post worth sh142m in preparation for the Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meeting (CHOGM).

UGANDA telecom has won a contract to build a wireless internet command post worth sh142m in preparation for the Commonwealth Heads of Governments Meeting (CHOGM).

Hans Paulsen, utl’s chief commercial officer, said the wireless network will be installed and maintained basing on the Third Generation Technology. The firm will also enhance its services with higher quality mobile, voice and high speed broad band data services.

“The improved robust network will be able to adapt efficiently to the growth in traffic and offer various services which will make utl network more reliable during CHOGM and after,” Paulsen said. He was addressing customers at a cocktail to mark the customers’ appreciation week.
