THREE Policemen, suspected to have shot five students in Itula Secondary School, Moyo district, have been granted bail by the High Court.

Fremilo Amoli, Julius Wayikonga and George Munguacel, all attached to Ndirindiri Police Post in Moyo, on July 1 injured the students as they tried to contain a strike at the school.

The Arua Chief Magistrate, Joseph Omodo Nyanga, ordered them to pay sh100,000 in cash, while their sureties were each required to pay a non-cash bond of sh300,000.

The Police officers had been on remand at Moyo Prison for three months.

Their case will come up for mention on October 23.

The district Police commander, John Goville, said the officers were suspended from the Force until their cases are disposed of by the court. The Police, he said, would also take disciplinary measures against them. Goville, however, said the suspects would still earn salaries until the case was concluded.
