Kampala is steadily stretching its boundaries as evidenced by the new real estate villages that surround the city today.

This means that the need for accommodation for people working in Kampala is fast improving.

Different property agents have come up although others have folded.

But the worthwhile have done a great job.

Kaga Property Services, is one of those agents that have constructed well-planed estates. The estate villages have become centres of attraction.

They have developed estate villages in Buziga, Namugongo, Ntinda, Naalya, Banda-Kyambogo and Buwaate-Najeera, all city suburbs.

The estates offer the perfect homes for those who prefer class and elegance.

Akright Property Developers are yet another company out to give you a comfortable home.

They have constructed estates in Kirinnya and now the latest – the Kakungulu Housing Estate at Bwebajja on Entebbe Road.

How to own these modern homes is just simple as long as you have the will. What you need is a budget and sticking to it.

If you cannot afford to buy a house, you may go in for renting. But if you are getting fed up with renting and want to move onto a property ladder, then you can choose to take a mortgage.

However, buying a house may be a bit complicated.

Gerald Tukahabwa, the marketing director of Kaga Property Services, says if you have the money and the only problem you have is how to spend it, then using the services of property agents would come in handy.

“Share your plans with the property agents and they will help you get property worth your money,” he advises.

“In most cases the rush to get things done, causes more problems, but with professional property agents you cannot go wrong although choosing credible agents is paramount.”

Some of the houses to let by the property agents are at the level of skeletal structures (shell houses), while others are complete.

For the incomplete houses, finishing is done by the buyer at their pace and to their taste.

Tukahabwa adds that the buyer also benefits from the laid infrastructure in the estate like water and electricity. On top of the houses the different property agents also deal in plots of land.

A shell house on 0.10-0.14 acre of land goes for not less than sh50m.
But when all this is planned credibility of the dealer is important.
