THE last time a Dream Team was assembled, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and other NBA titans crushed all competition to inspire Team USA to Olympic gold in Barcelona!

Vision Voice’s modern-day version of that 1992 vintage anticipates similar dominance when it hits the airwaves this Saturday on the radio’s flagship sports programme, SPORTLIGHT!

The dream panel — which comprises Louis Jadwong, Paul Mbuga Charles Mutebi, Fred Kaweesi and Douglas Mazune — will be hosted by Joseph Opio; in a show that boasts the single most inspired collection of sports authorities on Ugandan radio.

According to Vision Voice’s Programme Director, Bill Tibingana, the Dream Team will catapult the station into orbit the day it debuts.

“It’s the kind of treat sports fans dare not miss out. These guys have made The New Vision sports desk the finest in the region; and they intend to pull no punches on radio. Through the Dream Team, Vision Voice will ensure whoever tunes into 94.8FM this Saturday gets the rare pleasure of listening to the most informed, most informative sports punditry Ugandan radio has ever witnessed.”

The SPORTLIGHT team features the most accomplished writers Uganda has to offer. Yet Tibingana insists that the team’s collective writing skills pale in comparison to its vocal and analytical abilities.
“We’re putting voices to famous by-lines but trust me, these guys speak far better than they write.”

THE DREAM TEAM:
-Joseph Opio: A human sports encyclopedia and the deputy editor of The Premiership Magazine
-Louis Jadwong: The New Vision Sports Editor with the final word on all things golf or cricket.
-Paul Mbuga: A fountain of informed punditry
-Charles Mutebi: A reference point in basketball
-Fred Kaweesi: An unrivalled Premiership guru
-Douglas Mazune: Bears ages of sports experience
