UGANDA continued her recent dorminance of the Nile freestyle Kayaking event with Ibrahim Mugembe winning the men’s title and Irene Mirembe coming second among women.

UGANDA continued her recent dorminance of the Nile freestyle Kayaking event with Ibrahim Mugembe winning the men’s title and Irene Mirembe coming second among women.
Mugembe earned sh3.5m after amassing 18 points in the Big Air, the 45km endurance and the 10km Boda Boda cross events.
The 24-year-old’s feat in the Nile Breweries and SN Brussels sponsored festival earned them places in the the professional ranks.
“For Mugembe to beat a field that has some of the world’s top 10 kayakers says a lot about the sport in Uganda,†the event organiser Jaime Simpson explained.
The Ugandan team of Juma “Via†Kalikwani and Mutwalibu Mbozi won the 45km endurance event, the toughest and longest in the world.
