OUTSIDE the first three minutes of last quarter, it was not clear who were the reigning MTN-FUBA men’s champions and who were promoted as last year’s second division heroes.

But those three minutes were enough for D-Mark Power to set the record straight as they established an 18-point lead on the way to dispatching Knight

Riders 104-96 in the basketball league at YMCA on Saturday.

Nevertheless, the Riders scored a lot of credit for staying in the match till then and fighting back thereafter to lose by seven points.

This was supposed to be another Power rout and there was every indication it would be.

Not only are the Riders a lower-table team, they had lost all their previous two matches to lowly opponents.

Isaac Afidra and Norman Blick led Power with a game-high 34 and 21 points respectively.
