LIGHT flyweight Ronald Serugo led the way as Ugandan boxers stole the show at the semi-finals stage of the East Africa Military Games in Kigali yesterday, reports Samson Opus.
The 2008 Olympian made boxing look easy as he outclassed Rwanda’s Charles Kyalo to win 20-1 and cushion Uganda’s chances of retaining the title.
Two other UPDF boxers, bantamweight Edward Kakembo and lightweight Hassan Abdu, also pounded their opponents for Uganda to send five in the final on Saturday. Zaheire Atenyi lost 18-12 to a Tanzanian.
Uganda beat Burundi 32-20 in handball but Burundi retaliated in soccer beating the Uganda team 2-1.
