LOYCE Tukamuhebwa, the wife to missing Kikuubo businessman has denied she diverted funds from the family business or knowledge of his whereabouts.

After five days in detention, 40-year-old Loyce was on Wednesday released from the Police’s custody following a family meeting initiated by the Police.

Police spokesperson Judith Nabakooba said Joyce was held at the Kampala Central Police Station for her own safety after some people insisted she should explain Johnson Tukamuhebwa’s whereabouts.

Accusations against Loyce originated from a note allegedly written by Tuhamuhebwa to relatives, saying he had decided to commit suicide because he was indebted after Loyce swindled all the money in the family business.

It has not been confirmed whether the note which relatives reportedly discovered in the shop, was written by the missing man.

During the meeting, a family member said Loyce, had revealed that her husband though indebted, had deposited sh4m on the day he disappeared for family upkeep.

Tukamuhebwa has eight children from two wives.

His first wife Lydia Kamashamba, lives in the country home in Ntungamo district while Loyce stays in Kajjansi on Entebbe Road.
