Homosexuality is immoral and illegal in Uganda

I wish to put right the minds of those who claim the habit of homosexuality is inborn. Just like we say that thieves are made and not born, so does it apply to homosexuality.

I wish to put right the minds of those who claim the habit of homosexuality is inborn. Just like we say that thieves are made and not born, so does it apply to homosexuality.

The reason why there is a lot of opposition against the habit is that it is immoral, illegal and above all, against the order of nature. The Bible condemns the habit.

The legislators of our countries did not sleep over this issue and consequently, section 145 of the Penal Code Act Cap 120 provides that “any person who (a) has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature; (b) has carnal knowledge of an animal; or (c) permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature, commits an offence and is liable to imprisonment for life. And even further, mere attempt to commit the offence is capable of getting you behind bars for seven years under section 146 of the same Act.

Many of the activists for this sexual behaviour have continuously relied on certain constitutional provisions to challenge the law against this unnatural habit. Among these have been; article 20 providing for fundamental rights and freedoms. It is surprising that even some elite in our society have joined these groups to advocate such ‘rights’.
