EDITOR—I was impressed by President Museveni’s tour of Teso to assess the impact of famine that has left many people suffering in the region.
This shows that our President is deeply concerned about the plight of those suffering in Uganda.

However, I am not impressed by some ministers who seem not to have acknowledged the impact of famine in Teso. Surely, who would have been the first ministers to visit Teso?

I believe if all the ministers had a good spirit like that of President Museveni about the plight of suffering people, Uganda would be a different country.
The cases of embezzled funds meant to help the sick would not arise.

Now that the government will relocate the money available to solve the food shortage problem, I would like to remind all those who will be involved in handling the money that such money is not meant to enrich those driving posh cars, sitting in air-conditioned offices and having five heavy meals a day.

Please, that money is meant to help our sisters and brothers who are surviving on a mug of porridge a day and leaves of wild plants.

I request all the ministers to emulate Museveni. Always try to leave those comfortable offices and have an on-spot assessment of the impact of every disaster that causes suffering to the people of Uganda.
