Teachers to fight HIV/AIDS
GULU-The Uganda National Teachers’ Union (UNATU) has called on teachers to devote their efforts to fight against HIV/AIDS. The call was made on Wednesday by the group’s chairperson for Gulu district, Grace Luwita, during the celebration of World Teachers’ Day at Pece Stadium. She called on the Government to consider raising teachers’ salaries so as to motivate them to performe better.

Govt to address maternal health
GULU-The Uganda Women Network (UWONET) has urged the Government to step up its efforts in addressing maternal health complications if it is to achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015. Presenting a petition at Boma Ground on Saturday, the executive director, Rita Aciro, said complications from maternal health remain a challenge for most African countries.
