APAC - District chairperson Nicholas Opio Bunga has urged political and civil leaders to unite and enforce effective service delivery to the community. Addressing an end-of-year district staff party at Omodi Hotel on Friday, Bunga said conflicts among leaders were detrimental to development. “With a peaceful and conducive atmosphere, we can attract a competent workforce,” he said.

Town council reshuffled

KITGUM - The town council chairperson, Richard Ojara Okwera, has dropped his deputy, George Obol, in his latest cabinet reshuffle announced during a council meeting on Thursday. The council unanimously endorsed his proposal to replace Obol with the secretary for works, Alfred Amoi, whose post was taken up by Innocent Nyero from Westland parish. The finance secretary, Agnes Okello, retained her position and so did Lucy Odiya, the education and health secretary.
