THE battle for the Super League’s second spot intensifies today with giants KCC, SC Villa and URA all in
action.

KCC, who face struggling Masaka, seem in the best position for a win on a day where mid table Maroons could cause a headache for Villa just like Iganga for URA.

Frank “Video” Anyau’s URA will have to be at its best when it travels to Iganga.

On form URA face Iganga desperate for a win after three consecutive losses.

Iganga’s dip followed an ambush of giants Villa at Ssaza ground in November. It’s such form that Iganga’s new coach Aggrey Kaluya will be out to resurrect against his former teacher at Dairy.

But Anyau ruled out any surprises. “We are prepared and focused,” he insisted.

The urge for the sound of the opening whistle was evident in Anyau. “It’s very nice to play against your former student. It’s like coming against your son. What do you do in such a situation? You teach them more lessons.”

Anyau had more for his student. “Can there be a better time to see whether he learnt from my lessons?”

Kaluya took over from Charles Namakola and Jamil Kasirye, who were all fired after a string of unimpressive results.

As the competition rages at the top, there are also all signs of a mid table thriller between Ediofe and Kinyara.

Mbarara-based Biharwe FC shocked CRO with a 2-1 win in the league action at Kakyeka yesterday.

First half strikes from George Sande and Sulait Irumba put the hosts in charge.

CRO, who saw their coach George Ssimwogerere sent off the technical bench by referee Ali Kalyango, could only reply through George Tietie in the 56th minute.
