CHARLES Ssemanda and Jackson Ssennabulya scored two first half goals as Simba beat Maroons in an armed forces Super League contest at Luzira yesterday.

Ssemanda tapped in a Mood Kawere cross past hapless Maroons keeper Saotom Ssebuwufu in the 21st minute, before Ssennabulya stretched the lead ten minutes later.

The win elevated coach Sam Ssimbwa’s army side from eleventh to ninth on the Super League table, as Mike Mutebi’s Maroons were condemned nearer to the relegation zone.

Simba now have 21 points from 16 encounters while their victims, lying 12th on the points table, have 18 points from the same number of outings.

The league takes a break today.
