MASINDI'S Kolping Hotel will not be the same tonight as celebrated singer Mariam Ndagire joins other local musicians Ronald Mayinja, Bebe Cool, Peter Miles, Menshan, Sophie Nantongo and Clever J at the Rock With Your Stars concert.
The party kicks off at 7:00pm for sh5,000.
This is the second in a series of four upcountry concerts sponsored by Celtel Uganda, where revellers meet and party with music stars. The first concert was held at in Lira a fortnight ago. Others will be held in Mbale, Mbarara and Fort Portal.
Eddy Sendi, the promoter, says they chose Ndagire as the lead artist because: “She is among the few PAM Awards nominees who has not had any performances in the area for a long time yet she is popular.â€
Dan Kaboyo, the marketing manager, says the company wants to take the PAM Awards experience closer to the people.
“The PAM Awards event is the biggest on the Ugandan social calendar, but it is held in Kampala. Most music fans upcountry feel left out of the action.â€
He said the shows also fall in line with Rock Your World, the company’s new campaign meant to “rock†people’s lifes- tyles by bringing out the best in them.
