Museveni promotes army officers

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has promoted several Uganda People’s Defence Forces officers and made new appointments. Among them are Bernard Rwehururu, Charles Angina and John Mugume who were raised from Colonel to Brigadier.

PRESIDENT Yoweri Museveni has promoted several Uganda People’s Defence Forces officers and made new appointments.
Bernard Rwehururu, Charles Angina and John Mugume were raised from Colonel to Brigadier and appointed Commandant Uganda Military Academy Kabamba, Chief of Staff Land Forces and General Manager Armed Forces Shop respectively, signaling a revival of the army shop, which closed in the 1990s.
Rwehururu and Angina were defence attaches in Kenya and Tanzania respectively, according to the army spokesperson, Major Paddy Ankunda.
According to a list released by Ankunda last evening, the Commander-in-Chief appointed Col. Sam Kiwanuka defence adviser in Kenya. Kiwanuka worked in the Gulu-based 4th Division.
Former army spokesperson Lt. Col. Shaban Bantariza is the new commandant of Oliver Tambo Leadership School.
