EDITOR—I disagree with President Muamar Gadaffi’s advice to President Museveni that revolutionaries don’t retire or resign.

That is not good advice for our continent as it creates more greed to the few individuals who think power is everything. It creates a bigger gap between the haves and have-nots in our society because the rich become richer and the poor become poorer.

The voiceless have no one to turn to. Gadaffi himself is partly to blame for Uganda’s long suffering because since the early 1970s he has been supporting Uganda governments, including that of Idi Amin. Although he takes credit for the good things he has done for Uganda, he should not give unconstructive advice that will hurt Ugandans and Africans in general.
