On Wednesday, the local government permanent secretary, Vincent Ssekono, is said to have written a letter to all local government authorities lamenting absentism of teachers from duty. I fully agree with him.

I was in Kasese late last year but was disappointed when i found out that neither the headmaster nor the teachers sign or comment on pupils’ report cards. i expected teachers to be interested in informing parents about how their children were faring but that was not the case!
