NAKAWA Division has passed out a reserve force of 129 people to protect the residents against criminals

NAKAWA Division has passed out a reserve force of 129 people to protect the residents against criminals, report Aidah Nanyonjo.

This follows the increase in cases of armed robbery and rape in the division. The local council officers in Mutungo parish nominated them for training.

During the pass out at Mutungo playground on Sunday, the deputy resident district commissioner, Fred Bamwine, said the trainees had a three-month military training. Bamwine said the force shall also protect people from unfair evictions by their landlords.

“Live by example. Do not take part in crime that terrorises residents,” he urged them. Bamwine said other courses would be conducted in the parishes to beef up security.
