THE Rugby Cranes team to this weekend’s Safari Sevens has been boosted with four key players from the 15s team.

Edmund Tumusiime, Joel Anguyo, Anthony Kinene and Moses Soita, who returned from the Confederation of Africa Rugby (CAR) Cup encounter in Botswana on Monday, were drafted into the Sevens team. Soita is the team captain.

“We are trying to build a specialised Sevens team for the future, but we had to bring some experienced players from the 15s to boost it. They are not going out there to win but they are able to put up a good show,” team manager Brian Tabaruka stated.

The team, under David Mutaka, departs for Nairobi today for the three-day event that starts tomorrow.

The team, that is sponsored by uganda telecom and Guinness, will face off with competitors from Namibia, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Morocco, Tunisia, Fiji, Japan, Emerging Boks (S. Africa) and Junior France.
