I arrived at about 6:20pm and I immediately placed my order — a glass of juice and goat meat. I decided to play games on my phone to avoid appearing stranded and to have the guy take me by surprise. After nearly an hour, the waitress came and told me somebody was calling me.

I went over to where Timothy was seated and he welcomed me. I found him taking a Club and he asked whether I wasn’t having any drink. I told him I had already had one and was just waiting for my food. We started chatting and shortly afterwards, the waitress brought my order and I asked for African tea.
He told me about his girlfriend who loved him so much, but does not call him much anymore. I advised him to sort out any differences they had. He told me how he liked the gap in my teeth and dimples and the fact that I had no make-up on. He said I am the kind of lady he would love to marry.
He asked if I had someone in my life and I told him I had one until two months ago. I explained to him how I had dated some men but all of them were insecure because of my appearance. They always tight-marked me wherever I went and this annoyed me.
I am now free to go wherever I wish without having to explain to anyone.
You must have liked him a lot to tell him all those things
For sure I liked him because of his honesty. Most men, though educated and wealthy, are still arrogant.
Timothy was a gentleman. He has the American height (tall) that I have always admired and he talked about developmental issues. As soon as I got home, he called to find out if I had arrived safely.

Maybe his tendency to over talk. From the beginning to the end of the date, he dominated the conversation and I was reduced to answering his questions.

I learnt of the date at 11:00am and I was not sure whether I would be smart enough for it since I had already left home. But when I asked a friend at work whether I was smart, she gave me a nod. However, I was nervous and kept wondering what the guy would turn out to be.
Any advice to a guy going out on a date?
Let him be smart and punctual. He should avoid showing a lot of interest in a girl and telling her everything about his life on day one.

After sitting for about 10 minutes without knowing where the girl was, I called one of the waiters to find her for me. After a few minutes she joined me.
The waitress also brought her order. She asked why I was drinking beer and I told her it is my way of relaxing the mind. We chatted about different topics, from our background to hobbies.
She then advised me to call her whenever I am stressed so that she can counsel me. I complimented her on her dressing, hairstyle and prettiness and told her she is every man’s dream date.

That is it. She is such an intelligent, wonderful and pretty lady.
Is there nowhere she fell short of your expectations?
She was perfect. It was I who felt insecure instead. I even apologised for the way I was dressed.
Any future plans?
I am still giving my girlfriend a grace period. Very soon we will sit down and try to sort out our issues. The outcome of our discussion will determine my next step. But given a chance, I will take my new found friendship to the next level.
