GUNMEN attacked the home of a city engineer over over the weekend and shot dead his security guard.
Rogers Muhiire, a private security guard aged 30 years, was killed by two armed thugs who climbed the perimeter wall of his boss, Hassan Ssendagire, at Katale Zone in Kajjansi, Wakiso district.
Police spokesman for Kampala Extra Simeo Nsubuga said the guard was shot twice in the chest and died as his boss tried to take him to hospital.
The Police recovered two bullet cartridges at the scene and later took the body to the city mortuary as investigations continued.
“The Police are trying to establish the motive of the attack because nothing was taken, which was suspicious,†Nsubuga said.
He said this was the second time in two months the same house was attacked.
“The first time, the guard managed to beat off the attackers,†Nsubuga said.
In a similar incident, a Special Police Constable attached to Katwe police station shot and injured three people in a night club.
Nsubuga said Henry Musisi had gone to a club on Salaama Road at about 4:00am to arrest a suspect, when he was confronted by angry revellers.
He said someone engaged the SPC in an argument. In the process of trying to disarm him, a scuffle ensued and he pulled the trigger.
