EDITOR — At the beginning of the year, the British Council launched the AKILI online service for its library users. It was billed as an innovative enterprise that would efficiently and promptly deliver books, videos and journals to the customers’ doorsteps in all corners of Uganda. But this has not been so.

When you seek clarification, you are advised to register and update your account. Even when all these procedures are followed, nothing is forthcoming.

For the last four months, I have made attempts to get services through AKILI, but it has proved very frustrating. It looks like the British Council is not well-equipped for this task.

Why doesn’t it revert to the old system where one would be attended to instantly? May be AKILI service is meant only for the Kampala clientele.
