HOSTS Kigezi High girls edged Muntuyera High School Kitunga 35-33 in the Sprite Schools Basketball championship yesterday. Ishamail Nuwagaba hit a game-high 17 while Abron Nkina contributed 12 in a late rally as the Kabale team sunk the Ntungamo side.

HOSTS Kigezi High girls edged Muntuyera High School Kitunga 35-33 in the Sprite Schools Basketball championship yesterday. Ishamail Nuwagaba hit a game-high 17 while Abron Nkina contributed 12 in a late rally as the Kabale team sunk the Ntungamo side.

In the other tie third division league contenders St. Michael SS Sonde overcame Budo SS 63-46. The result kept St. Michael on top of Group A with four points over favourites Eagles Nest and Bugema SDA.

Andrew Kazunga sank five points while Wahab Mweba also contributed five as the Wakiso side recorded their second victory. The week-long championship that goes up to Saturday runs alongside a coaching clinic facilitated by FUBA officials Tom Ocamringa and Hamza Nyambogo.
