IT is nice to have a good pair of shoes. Even better, it is good to have a pair of shoes that sparkle. However, not all of us have the luxury of having a car. For many, it is the long trek up the dusty or muddy road to the stage, then onto a taxi and perhaps followed by a walk from the taxi stage to the office.

And depending on the job that one does, it may involve a lot of walking through the dusty town. Despite that, there are some cardinal rules that have to be observed.

If you live down a murram road, which requires you walking to the stage, if the heavens opened up that morning, what do you do? If you have a pair of Wellingtons boots, then use them to walk to the stage then hand them over to the house help or somebody who is staying with you to take them back home back.

If that fails, then just don’t walk into the office with muddy shoes. At almost every street corner there is a cobbler. Take time to seek him out and have him clean your dusty or muddy shoes.

Again it costs you nothing to walk into an office with clean shoes. See the cobbler and have him polish them for you. You have to remember that when you walk into an office, it is often your shoes that walk in first and thus it is what people also see first.

Then there are shoes that have small grooves between the sole and the upper part of the shoe. While many may have neatly polished shoes, they often forget to polish those small grooves.

As tedious as it may be, trying to clean those grooves, it must be done because the dust that may have gathered in those grooves, will stand out and ruin your whole look.
