NGO donates machines KALANGALA-Action Aid, a Non- Government Organisation, has donated electronic sewing machines worth sh12m to persons living with HIV/AIDS in the islands. The project coordinator, Fred Kintu, handed over the sewing machines to the beneficiaries last week, through their association, Kalangala People Living with HIV/AIDS. Kintu said over 2,000 people had gone through voluntary testing and counselling. The district council chairperson, Dan Kikoola, urged the fishmongers to stop having irresponsible sex. Kikoola commended Action Aid for the support and urged other organisations to emulate the initiative. He said empowering the affected people with sewing machines would help in reviving their hope and encourage them to work and lead a normal life.
