Traders in Kamuli district recently threw their colleague off a truck as a result of an argument over Busoga kingdom succession. The debate was about who of five candidates was better suited to replace Kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki, who died recently.

The traders, perched on the back of a Fuso truck, were heading for Igwaya livestock market on the Kamuli-Iyingo Road. As the debate heated up, a number of them could not tolerate a colleague who had divergent views and a sharp tongue.

Most of them were in favour of Prince Gabula Nadiope, while the evictee, only identified as Idhuma, strongly campaigned for Edward Wambuzi, the late Muloki’s son.

Eventually, they got fed up and asked the driver to stop. They grabbed Idhuma and shoved him off the truck. They then tossed off his merchandise of used clothes and drove off.

But even as Idhuma flew off the truck, he stood his ground, shouting at the top of his voice that Wambuzi was the best candidate.

He shouted after them that, after all, perching on the back of a truck was not the most comfortable thing on earth.
