DFCU Bank has launched a loan facility to support small-and-medium entrepreses (SMEs).

Dubbed, the Business Growth Loan, the facility would enable SMEs borrow to clear goods in transit and fulfil supplier contracts.

It would also help them buy stocks and in financing their business expansion.

“By having access to finance for specific business needs, customers will become more competitive in their businesses and will enhance their performance in the short and long term.”

The facility was unveiled during the official opening of the bank’s Kikuuko branch in downtown Kampala on Wednesday.

Juma Kisaame, the managing director, noted that the opening of the Kikuubo branch was part of the bank’s planned expansion this year. “We are proud to open this branch to complement our presence in downtown Kampala.

“This is the sixth branch of eight new branches the bank will open this year,” Kisaame said.

“dfcu is behind many of the success stories in Uganda’s economy today,” Hajji Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige of the BMK Group of Companies, who presided over the function, said.

“The businesspeople working in the Kikuubo area should be assured that their interests will be taken care of.”

dfcu Bank has 12 branches within Kampala.

It will open two new branches on Market Street and in Mbarara by the end of year, top official announced.

This will bring its branch network countrywide to 20, the official added.
