CONTRARY to Cranes’ home-based restricted build-up match schedule, Uganda’s CECAFA opponents Rwanda have opted for a more meaningful approach.
The Amavubi Stars have lined up an international friendly against Bahrain in Manama on December 26 as a warm up for their potential opener against the Cranes on January 1.
“We chose to play against Bahrain because it’s ranked 74 on Fifa rankings and should give us a good test,†Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa pointed in the Rwanda Times.
The Cranes edged a Masaka select side 2-0 in their first build-up game before trouncing a Jinja select team 3-1 on Wednesday.
Coach Bobby Williamson’s Cranes side is expected to engage another select team from the local league before their engagement against Rwanda.
