TICKS are dark-brown or reddish-brown, leathery-bodied eight legged parasites that feed on blood. Ticks can live for months in a dormant state without food.

They transmit diseases like rocky mountain spotted fever, tick typhus and relapsing fever. They also cause secondary infections like tick paralysis and other disorders.

Control measure:
Ticks are hard to control and treatment will involve more than one application.

This can be done with any treatment containing permethrins, but care should be taken not to apply it on skin.

The first application will reduce active ticks. Additional applications may be necessary for continued control as eggs hatch.

Pets are also supposed to be dipped in an Indospect solution; their beddings soaked and washed in hot and soapy water. Do not forget to treat the lawns at the same time to avoid reinfestation.
