THE 2006 netballer Barbara Namukaya has been dropped from the She-Cranes team for the Africa Zone V Senior Challenge Cup starting this weekend.
She-Cranes departed yesterday for the March 3-10 event in Stone town, Zanzibar.
National team coach Harriet Kabuye said Namukaya was ruled out after failing to pass a fitness test early this week.
Other notable players dropped included defenders Betty Namukasa, Ziyada Kizza and shooter Evelyn Adokorach.
“I was given my chance and I worked as hard as I could. It's their decision. I would have loved to represent my country," Namukaya said with sadness.
Tanzania who ousted Uganda 37-35 in 2004, are expected to defend their title when they come up against teams from Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda and hosts Zanzibar.
