Cyclists won’t leave city
KAMPALA - Bodaboda cyclists and vendors will not be evicted from the streets during the Commonwealth summit in November, the Police have said. “That is the time to make money, so why chase you and deny you the chance of earning money,” asked the Police spokesman, Asan Kasingye on Wednesday. He was speaking at launch of the Usalaama community policing strategy at Nakivubo Blue Primary School. Usalaama is a new system where local council leaders and residents help the Police to control crime.

Government to plant trees
MASAKA - The Government has asked district leaders to identify hilly areas for tree planting. According to the state minister for economic monitoring, Morris Kagimu, the move is aimed at conserving the environment. “Be cooperative with the Government when it comes to buy land for tree planting,” he told residents of Nyendo on Tuesday.
