IT is a Moses-Moses affair. Singers Sweet Kid (Moses Serwadda) and Bebe Cool (Moses Ssali) have come up with a song, Kiba Kibi (It’s always bad when...).

While Bebe Cool has established himself as a master at this collaboration game, it is Kid’s first time to do so. Kid had toyed with the idea of working with Cool on this song since 2005.

With both singers busy most of the time, the song was shelved till recently. Kid had on his first album worked with the late Kefah Mwesigwa and rapper Mosh but he says in the true musical sense none of the songs they did would be described as a collaboration in the realm of Kiba Kibi.

The new song, released to local FM stations recently, seems to be destined for success, judging by its airplay.

The song is done in dancehall style. Kid and Cool wrote their parts in the song. Again working as a team, both singers looked no further than their trusted producers in Allan D and Washington Ebangit.

Allan has worked with Kid on his career two albums and Ebangit has also worked with Cool for a while now. Produced from the D Records studio in Nakasero, the song is a typical love gone sour lamentation.

On it, Kid and Cool lament the failure of lovers to face challenges in relationships. “We will soon be shooting the video for the song with Twisted Images,” says Kid.

The singer says he might focus on releasing singles before thinking of a full-length album, something he has done before. Already lined up for release after Kiba Kibi is Sanyu Lyange, a solo he did this year.
