THE Kooki cultural leader, Kamuswaga Apollo Sansa Kabumbuli II, celebrated his third coronation anniversary on Tuesday and vowed not to break away from the Buganda Kingdom.

“Kooki is very strong under the Kabaka of Buganda and shall never be diverted from supporting the norms and values of the kingdom,” said Ananiyas Sekyanzi, the Kamuswaga’s premier, during the celebrations at Lwanda sub-county headquarters in Rakai district.

Sekyanzi told the celebrants who included the acting Buganda Katikkiro, Emmanuel Sendawula, that Kooki and Buganda signed an agreement that would never allow them to break their ties.

“Kooki shall support and respect all Mengo government’s decisions.” Sendawula commended the relationship between Kooki and Mengo, saying it was obvious they would remain united.

He said Buganda had signed an agreement with the China Africa Business Council to construct health centres at all sub-county headquarters in the region.

He stressed that Mengo would continue agitating for peace talks with the Central Government until they get everything they lost in the past regimes.

Kabumbuli gave out tree seedlings and requested the residents to stop encroaching on the wetlands.
