WITH sh26m, Kenya’s Diana Swan could start up her own humble company to become a boss of her own, a dream she hoped to fulfil by taking part in the Deal Or No Deal jackpot.

Even if she did not hit the jackpot, her performance was better than many contestants’. She turned down the banker’s most tempting offers until one she could not resist sprang up.

She only had a 50% chance of taking home the $30,000 (sh51m) that was still on the betting board. But she could not take chances considering that there was another small figure that could have spoilt her luck.

And although the $30,000 (sh51m) was in Case 12, her lucky pick, it would have been unforgivable if she had said ‘no deal’ to its half, the last offer — after all she was not positive she had it in there.

So far, none of the 11 contestants has had the guts to say no deal to the last offer when they have a 50% chance on a good figure.
