Apparently, MTN is phasing out their public relations and events department and contracting the job to Ignition, a PR firm. Ignition is owned by Nicola Brown, a former advertising manager at MTN.

There is speculation that the move is meant to streamline operations in preparation of the cutthroat competition expected with the entry of two new telecom firms – Warid and Hits Telecom. MTN has also lost some senior staff to either firm.
