Uganda v Tanzania
JOEL Olweny inspired
Uganda to a 94 run victory
against Hong Kong to make
a perfect start in the
Division Three World
Cricket League here yesterday.

The captain for the side
was in a pectacular batting
form hitting 60 off 92 balls
before returning with the
ball to claim three priceless
wickets.

Batting first, Uganda had
a slow start with 49 runs in
20 overs after openers
Arthur Kyobe (08) and
Roger Mukasa (00) were
dismissed early.

Olweny then applied talent
and experince with
Benjamin Musoke (48) for a
fourth stand of 86 runs to
stabilise the ship for victory.

Junior Kwebiiha (39) and
Kenneth Kamyuka (22) also
played sensibly as Uganda
set the opponents 221 runs
to win.

Known for their splendid
fielding and bowling, Sam
Walusimbi's boys did not
disappoint as they claimed
two early wickets to set
Hong Kong in panic.

Kamyuka (2-20) and
Charles Waiswa (3-17) did
the early spoils restrciting
Hong Kong to 52-5 in 15
overs.

Man-of-the-match Olweny
(3-14) also wasted no time
with the ball as Uganda
wrapped up the opponents
for a pathetic 126 with 13.1
overs at hand.
Uganda takes on
Tanzania today in another
expected thriller.
