AN unidentified woman was found dead as her partner barely held onto his life at Pentagon Lodge in Kireka, a city suburb. The Kampala Extra Police spokesman, Simeo Nsubuga, on Friday said the corpse was found on Thursday.

He explained that the woman’s partner, Robert Musoke, a bodaboda cyclist, booked a room at the lodge on Wednesday evening.

“He paid for room 102 and later returned with a woman.” Nsubuga said the couple was expected to leave the lodges by 7:00am on Thursday but their room remained locked.

Several efforts by the manager to access the room failed, prompting him to force the door open.

This was when they discovered the dead woman and Musoke lying helpless with foam on his mouth.

“The woman’s mouth also had foam. There was a half eaten meal of Irish potatoes that could have been poisoned,” Nsubuga noted.

The corpse was taken to Mulago mortuary and Musoke was rushed to Mulago Hospital for treatment.

However, Police reports showed that Musoke fled from his hospital bed and is yet to be found.
