KAMPALA
California-based Isaac Mutabazi yesterday won the first battle for custody of his children born by the daughter of city tycoon Tom Mugenga. The High Court ordered Esther Mugenga to hand over the children to Mutabazi, whom she had blocked from seeing them since she fled the US in March.

Mutabazi petitioned court last week. The children, aged one and four, will be handed over today.

The ruling, made by the registrar in charge of family matters, John Arutu, was an interim measure as the wrangles between the parents are sorted. The children are US citizens and lawyer Nathan Fluke of the American Embassy, has been monitoring the case.
