Ban all types of ‘buveera’

THE proposal by the Parliament’s natural resources committee to ban all polythene bags is welcome. The Government cannot achieve the desired benefits of the ban and enforce the ban when some types of polythene bags are still acceptable. Banned are the polythene bags of less than 30 microns.

How big are 30 microns? What instrument measures 30 microns?
As a user of polythene bags, how do I know the banned and the acceptable size? This makes enforcement almost impossible.
