KAMPALA International University made a last-minute move, sending three athletes to the World University Games that start Wednesday in Bangkok, Thailand, reports Norman Katende.

Justin Bayiga and Simon Ayeko left on Saturday, while javelin thrower Annet Kabasindi departs today for the week-long games. Uganda is entering 40 athletes. Emily Nanziri was dropped because the university could only manage four tickets for athletes and a sports tutor, meaning that the women short relay team is dropped. Nanziri is the second lead lady sprinter in the country after Bayiga.
